Free Fax Service
Setting up a solid company foundation is a key component to meeting lender compliance. It enables you to qualify for certain types of financing so you can begin establishing a creditworthy company.
For example, lenders and creditors expect your business to have a dedicated fax number because it is an important means of exchanging information. Even though there are so many new ways to correspond, faxing still remains a fundamental part of a company’s communication structure.
Before you go through the expense of purchasing a pricey fax machine there are other ways you can send and receive faxes without using an actual fax machine such as a free fax service.
Have you heard of online faxing?
Faxing online makes it easy for your business to send and receive faxes from anywhere in the world. It eliminates the need for a fax machine, an additional phone line and all the common expenses associated with a fax machine such as paper, ink cartridges, servicing, etc.
To the person faxing, your fax number looks and acts like any other fax number but the main difference is your faxes are converted to a digital file and emailed to you as an attachment.
This is an ideal solution for small businesses in terms of cost, convenience and efficiency. Best of all you can obtain your new business fax number free!
The company is called eFax and it offers a free fax service called eFax Free. When you sign up for this free service there are three things to remember:
- Your free fax service number will not be local to your location and is selected by eFax (j2 Global®) in its discretion.
- You will not be able to select or change your eFax Number unless you upgrade to one of their paid for services such as eFax Pro or eFax Plus.
- You may receive up to 10 fax pages (inbound) within any thirty (30) day period.
So if you want a local number to your location then you will need to upgrade to an eFax Pro or eFax Plus account. If you decide to upgrade then be sure to use eFax as a trade reference on future credit applications.
You can also add it as a trade reference to your Dun and Bradstreet credit file if you subscribe to one of DNB’s trade reference builder programs.
Ideally the area code of your fax number should match the area code of your business phone number. Consistency projects a professional image especially when your company numbers match up locally.
But if you are on a tight budget then you can always upgrade from your free eFax number to a paid for service at a later date.
Finally, make sure you review all the plans and pricing options eFax offers so you can choose whether a free fax service or a paid fax service is best for your business.
